Following the previous Government announcements regarding the implementation of sanction measures against Russian origin iron and steel, including products processed in a third country, HMRC have published information on introduction of Sanctions General Import Licence (SGIL) that permits the import of reusable packaging of Russian origin.
The published guidance provides information on:
- Criteria’s to use the SGIL licence
- Affected commodity code
- Instructions on use of oral declaration, declaration by conduct or full electronic import declaration
- Simplified Customs Declaration Process (SCDP) and Temporary Admission (TA) Information
