BIFA YFN – An Introduction to Port Health

At the next YFN event for the Anglia region our guest speakers will be from Suffolk Coastal Port Health Authority (SCPHA).

SCPHA upholds the protection of public and animal health by inspecting food, feed, and animal products imported through the Port of Felixstowe, Harwich International Port, and the Port of Ipswich. 

SCPHA’s Lead Business Solutions Trainer, Adam Flatman, together with Natasha Varley, Technical Trainer, will deliver an “Introduction to Port Health” presentation. This will cover the importance of biosecurity, the responsibilities of a Port Health Authority, and the activities carried out at the border.

At this event, you will:

  • Learn the fundamentals of legislation required for imports
  • Explore SCPHA’s services
  • Receive insights on how border checks are conducted
