BIFA winner selected for international award

As one of the four regional winners, Jenifer Taylor from Santova Logistics will attend the FIATA World Congress in Taipei in September. In Taipei, she will receive her regional certificate and trophy, and provide a short presentation on her entry dissertation prior to the overall Young International Freight Forwarder of the Year 2015 being announced.

Jeni says: “My dissertation demonstrated the complexity of importing hanging garments into the UK from the Far East through Europe and exporting a large out-of-gauge consignment of mining equipment to South Africa. It showed how time-sensitive multimodal movements can be achieved whilst managing the costs and environmental issues. I feel a sense of great achievement to be through to the next round as the winner of the Europe region competition and I’m very excited to go to Taipei for the FIATA World Congress.”

She will compete with the other region finalists including: Daniella Smal (Zambia) representing Africa / Middle East; Kaya Karakaya (Canada) representing the Americas and Madi Kassabekov (Kazakhstan) representing Asia / Pacific.

Jeni began her journey to this award by entering and winning the Young Freight Forwarder category (sponsored by Virgin Atlantic Cargo) of the BIFA Freight Service Awards in 2014.

The last time a BIFA YFF winner went on to compete for the international award was after the 2005 BIFA Awards competition when Marlena Goldberger of Eagle Global Logistics (now Ceva Logistics) was selected as the YIFFY competition Europe Regional Winner.

Anyone who would like the opportunity to represent the UK in the next international competition should first enter the BIFA Young Freight Forwarder of the Year 2015 competition. Registration is now open. Go to the BIFA Awards website for eligibility criteria and entry details.”
