Future of Freight: UK Strategy
One side effect of the Brexit debate is to raise the profile of our sector, highlighting its importance to the wider economy.
We have seen recent initiatives for the first time, such as delivering freight in cities specifically recognise the importance of the freight sector, highlighting that its needs should be considered when designing road systems. Some of these initiatives will undoubtedly focus of improving vehicle access and flows to help minimise emissions.
Against this background, in August, the Government appointed George Freeman MP to be the Minister of State for the future of Transport. He has written to BIFA encouraging both us and the wider membership to engage with the Future of UK Freight team.
