Single Trade Window – User Research Invite

HMRC invites users to take part in testing the STW service to help optimise the functionality and learn from “real world” user experiences

The first version of the Single Trade Window will offer:

  • Registration & Authentication
  • Full Frontier Import Declaration (Submission and Cancellation)
  • A dashboard with key notifications
  • Simple error messaging

As HMRC plan to release further functionality in May 2024, there will be the testing opportunities for agents and hauliers in preparation for the October 2024 requirements on Safety and Security (ENS) declarations.

– Traders using STW will be able to complete full or simplified customs declarations for goods that are entering Great Britain into free circulation through a GVMS port.

– Hauliers will be able to create a GMR so they can cross the border with no delays, and intermediaries will be able to represent their clients and share details of their work and ongoing status updates. All users will need to have a UK trading address and UK EORI number.

Features will include:

  • Manage my company and its users
  • Set up business relationships
  • Internal and external collaboration
  • Simplified declaration procedures
  • Import amendments
  • GMR creation
  • Email notifications
  • Manual arrival of goods
  • Agent users (direct representation)
  • Safety and Security Declarations

If you would like to be involved, please email STWBCRteam@hmrc.gov.uk. This is an opportunity to help shape the future design of the service.

During this testing phase, HMRC will be learning from customers, allowing to enhance the service before it is publicly released. Feedback will further inform STW design whilst enabling customers to start using the service to meet their border obligations.
