Cargo Aviation Security Principles Driver (CASPD) is the most basic level of air cargo security training. CASPD allows access to the warehouse where secure cargo may be stored but does not allow the individual to handle such cargo (e.g. pick or label).

Personnel who will be handling secure cargo must attend the Cargo Operative (CO) course as a minimum.

CASPD covers the following modules (as appropriate):

1. The threat to aviation
2. Security in the aviation industry
3. The trainee’s role
6. Overview of cargo and mail
7. Transport

Successful candidates will be issued with a certificate recognised by the DfT which is valid for a period of two years.
