John Stubbings has succeeded Mark Bromley as the elected National Chair of BIFA – the British International Freight Association – for a two-year period. Bromley becomes Immediate Past Chair for a two-year term.
In addition, Rachel Morley, general manager for operations at BIFA member company, Spatial Global, has been elected Vice-Chair by the BIFA Board. Morley was appointed a director of BIFA in 2017 and chairs the trade association’s Midlands region.
Sir Peter Bottomley, MP, remains as BIFA president.
Stubbings has been associated with BIFA for many years, and is currently group director and company secretary at the Woodland Group. He is also Chair of BIFA’s Legal and Insurance Policy Group.
Joining the Board as a director is Charles Hogg, commercial director of Unsworth Global Logistics. Hogg is currently Chair of BIFA’s Maritime, Road and Rail Policy Group. He replaces Andrew Melton of Ligentia, who has stepped down after fourteen years’ service on the Board. Melton will continue to assist BIFA in a Council role as Vice President.
BIFA Director General Robert Keen comments: “In welcoming John and Rachel into their new positions, I wish to express my appreciation for the contribution made by Mark Bromley over the past few years; and by Andrew Melton over the last 14 years. I am also pleased that Sir Peter has agreed to continue in office.
“John and Rachel’s wide ranging experience in helping to run successful freight forwarding companies will ensure that BIFA and its members will benefit greatly from these new appointments.”
