As a Supporting Organisation, BIFA will be encouraging its members to enter a team for the event, which will take place in June 2020.
Carl Hobbis, BIFA’s training development manager, said: “By engaging teams in a series of fun physical, practical and mental team challenges, the event aims to promote the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion across the logistics industry, as well as the business benefits that result when companies improve diversity.
“We are already working with Talent in Logistics through our Young Forwarder Network to help the multimodal logistics sector overcome staff recruitment and skills challenges by recruiting, developing, engaging and retaining the very best people, so this is a logical extension of that relationship.”
The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge will bring together logistics professionals to look at how the sector can tackle diversity collaboratively and collectively in an informal setting.
The event will also offer the perfect platform for industry to share best practice, network, team build and help shape what the profession should do next to encourage a more inclusive sector.
Support also comes from across the industry from organisations such as: Aston University, Cold Chain Federation, SHD Logistics, Warehouse & Logistics News and ForkliftAction.
