Border Operating Model
The most important of these announcements is the release of the updated Border Operating Model (BOM), which lays out the legal framework to the UK border with the European Union after the UK has exited following the transition period.
Full text of the BOM can be viewed here:
Delayed Declarations
A further two announcements relate to the Delayed Declaration process and in particular the data elements for an Entry in Declarants Records (EIDR) and who is regarded as a ‘fit and proper person’ to be granted authorisation to operate both the EIDR and the simplified customs declaration process.
It is important to note that an EIDR is a customs declaration and the primary difference is that it is not filed in CHIEF, but invokes the same responsibilities and obligations, and consequently potential penalties for non-compliance.
Both announcements relative to Delayed Declarations can be viewed here:

- Draft notices to be made under The Customs (Transitional Arrangements) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020
