DfT Reminder: Operation Brock has been deployed in Kent

We have been asked by the DfT to bring your attention to the likelihood of disruption on cross channel routes with the impending start of school holidays. Please see the message from DfT below.

Operation Brock has been deployed in Kent ahead of the summer getaway period – we expect to see peak tourist traffic travelling via Eurotunnel and Port of Dover over the weekend Friday 21 – Sun 23 July.

In that period delays for freight traffic going to/from Eurotunnel and Dover are very likely. If you can, consider changing your travel plans to avoid the peak period.

If you cannot change your plans:

  1. If Operation Brock and Dover TAP is in operation, Police and DVSA enforcement teams will be operating across Kent to ensure compliance.
  2. You may also be asked to delay your exit from truck stops in the area, especially if local roads are disrupted.
  3. Please check the information provided by Eurotunnel and Port of Dover before you travel, and ensure you have supplies of food and water, particularly in hot weather.
