We are reminding all Members that the use of code ‘999L’ when submitting import declarations through the Customs Declaration Service (CDS) will not be allowed after 31 January 2024.
HMRC has issued a letter to remind trade about the change which you can now download here.
After 31 January 2024, waiver document code ‘999L’ will be permanently removed for use on import declarations. The full list of Y codes replacing ‘999L’ can be found here. Additional can also be found here.
If you use the 999L waiver document code for imports after 31 January 2024, your declaration will not be accepted, meaning your goods will be delayed at the border.
