Ten New Activities Added to the 2024 Big logistics Diversity Challenge

Ten brand new fun physical, mental and skill-based activities await teams taking part in this year’s much-anticipated Big Logistics Diversity Challenge.

Designed to promote the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) across the logistics and warehousing sector, The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge (BLDC) promotes the importance of EDI and how inclusivity can be tackled collaboratively and collectively.

Organised by multi-media specialists Nimble Media Ltd, the event is an opportunity for organisations to share best practice, network and help shape a more inclusive sector while recognising and rewarding employees with an adventurous day of fun.

The 2024 BLDC is being held at Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire, on 20 June, and will feature a total of 28 challenges including favourites such as Hungry Hippos, Walk the Plank and It’s A Knockout.

The ten new challenges include a trip back in time to compete in The Big Diversity Sports Day with teams taking part in classics like the sack race, skipping, and beanbag balancing. Staying with the physical challenges Golden Bungee Balls will test teams in a head-to-head endurance test where they need to retrieve as many golden balls as possible while ‘bungeeing’ across a giant inflatable. Toxic Jigsaw will see the teams tag-team to navigate a giant 150-foot-long inflatable in pairs and complete a jigsaw.

New mental and skill-based challenges introduced for 2024 include ID Parade tests teams’ recognition and memory skills to identify celebrities from the world of entertainment, while Mortar Attack sees teams navigate their way through ‘radio-active waste’ and launch a solid fuel maroon rocket – streaming a smoke trail up to 1000 feet into the air – before making their way back to their crashed shuttle. Putting some construction skills to the test, teams will need to build a safe transport route to move their ‘toxic waste’ to a controlled storage container in the Thunderball challenge.

Semaphore Whisper is a game of Chinese whispers using flag semaphore with teams split into groups, one responsible for delivering the message, another deciphering it and the third confirming the final communication. Testing both dance moves and musical knowledge, the Silent Disco challenge will involve teams battling to name as many songs as possible based only on the dance moves they are witnessing, as dancers are the only ones who can hear the music!

The 2024 event’s chosen charity will be international development charity Transaid – and will join teams on the day to run The 39 Steps challenge – a maze-based conundrum where memory and logical-thinking skills are pushed to the limits as teams try to get themselves across the grid without a wrong step.

The popularity of The Big Logistics Diversity Challenge continues to grow as an increasing number of organisations recognise the business benefits of gender-balanced and diverse teams,” comments Vicky Binley, Nimble Media Ltd Director.

This year’s participants can expect an action-packed, fun-filled day underpinned by the key message that an inclusive culture reaps rewards for both individuals and employers.

The 10 new challenges added for 2024 promise to test teams’ problem-solving, collaborative approach, concentration and communication.
