DEFRA has requested that BIFA brings to our Members attention an initiative led by Defra as part of their trader readiness efforts concerning the new Border Target Operating Model (BTOM) SPS import controls.
To better understand the actions traders are undertaking in preparation for these new controls and to identify how the UK Government can provide optimal support to businesses during this transition, Defra has designed a ‘readiness’ survey. Trader participation in this survey is instrumental in shaping gov support that will facilitate a smoother adaptation to the impending changes.
Upon completing the survey, participants will be directed to the most up-to-date guidance on changes to import controls for SPS goods, ensuring they are well-informed and equipped to navigate the evolving landscape.
The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete. Participation is voluntary and anonymous.
BIFA has been requested to pass this information to our membership, for them to complete where appropriate. Members support in evaluating trader readiness for the forthcoming changes under the BTOM is invaluable to us.
