Following the Spring Budget 2023 announcement published earlier this year, where HMRC were seeking traders’ views on a number of different subjects, the Government has announced the next steps on a package of improvements to streamline customs processes and reduce admin burdens for businesses
The announced summary information is based on the feedback collected from the trade via a series of calls for evidence and consultations focused on the following areas:
• Introducing a voluntary standard for customs intermediaries
• The future of customs declarations
• Bringing goods into the UK temporarily
• Modernising Authorisations
• Changes to Customs Guarantees for Special Procedures, Temporary Storage and Duty Deferment
• Transit policy simplifications
