BIFA’s Training Delivery Team Has Over 100 Years Of Forwarding And Customs Experience Combined!

They are all qualified trainers, and receive a lot of plaudits and positive feedback every week from delegates; complimenting them on their delivery style and the interactive nature of our courses. They love what they do, giving their knowledge back in a helpful and understated way to delegates who would attend any of our four face-to-face freight and customs courses or qualifications.

Graeme Wilkinson

Training Development Manager

Graeme, who is based at Feltham, joined in 2017 and helped re-design all the training materials when BIFA took over the training from an external contractor. He has a creative streak and pre-pandemic we were all in awe of the quality of his flipcharts, but even though they were top-notch, delegates really love Graeme’s friendly, delivery style for which he receives lots of compliments.

He started off his career working at the Animal Quarantine station at Heathrow in 1991, but moved to the forwarding side in 1996; kicking off his career at Emery. Graeme, then went on to spend five years at CH Robinson and then seven years each at MIQ Logistics and Korean logistics company, Pantos.

Outside of family life, one of Graeme’s hobbies is fishing. In fact, this was the subject of his ‘micro session’ when he qualified as a trainer.

Liz Sumner

Trainer - Freight and Customs

In 2019, BIFA saw the demand keep on increasing, and Liz became our third full-time trainer, joining from DSV Air and Sea, based in the Midlands. Liz’s appointment means that our team are based across Manchester, Birmingham, and Feltham. This enables us to deliver more training days for our members.

Like Graeme and Claire, Liz has over 30 years of experience the majority with BAX Global and DB Schenker, including supervisory roles, covering imports, customs, customer service and key account management.

Liz has done a remarkable job since joining, she had only been delivering sessions face-to-face for a couple of months and just started the BTECs when the pandemic took hold and like most things, came to a grinding halt.

Interests: Liz will openly admit her number one priority outside of work, is her dog, Nellie.

Claire Capaccioli

Trainer - Freight and Customs

Pretty much, exactly a year later in September 2018, Claire was the next addition to the team, based in the north west. Claire’s appointment followed the introduction of the International Freight Forwarding Specialist Apprenticeship and to deliver the increased demand for our training courses.

Claire has a vast amount of freight forwarding and customs experience and was active in regional meetings prior to joining BIFA. She started her career in 1991 at Kintetsu World Express, then, seven years later moved to Yusen Logistics where she spent 20 years.

She is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport and is currently studying for a Diploma in World Customs Compliance.

Claire is a keen traveller and is also a volunteer for industry charity, Transaid.
