The Department for Business and Trade has released new guidance relating to the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) agreement.
From 15 December 2024, UK traders are able to trade with the below countries under the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) agreement:
- Japan
- Singapore
- Chile
- New Zealand
- Vietnam
- Peru
- Malaysia
- Brunei
From 24 December 2024, UK traders will be able to trade with Australia under CPTPP.
Canada and Mexico have not yet ratified the UK’s accession to CPTPP, therefore UK businesses will not be able to trade under CPTPP with these Parties until they do so.

The CPTTP measures on the Online Tariff contain both a ‘condition’ and a ‘footnote’ which, together, explains the document codes and which ones to use. The country specific Rules of Origin guidance tab within the online tariff will be available soon.
